You might sadly recall that Station Master Tama passed away on June twenty second. An estimated A,000 individuals turned out for her Sunday Shinto-fashion funeral. Now H.I. reader Amy R. has alerted us to the truth that Tama has been granted the posthumous standing of…Shinto Goddess.

Quoting The Guardian UK, “This is in line with the indigenous Japanese faith’s apply of honouring animal deities. She can be enshrined at a close-by shrine for cats in August, based on Mitsunobu Kojima, president of the Wakayama Electric Railway.”
